HY-ON-A HILL TROUT FARM |
![]() |
Our FarmHy-On-A Hill Trout Farm was started during the 1970s in an effort to save an existing farm after generations of dairy farming. Since that time, the business of supplying trout for stocking purposes has been the primary mission at Hy-On-A Hill where Brook and Rainbow trout have been hatched and raised for the fishing enjoyment of their customers. Owned since 2003 by Mark Fisk, Mark has been committed to continuing the Hy-On-Hill Trout Farm tradition. ![]() The farm is located on 80 acres in a quiet, rural and scenic area in the Connecticut River Valley. The facility consists of a hatchery building, an office/storage building, several concrete rearing tanks and raceways, and a one acre pond stocked for fee-fishing. The hatchery and rearing tanks are individually supplied with gravity-fed drinking-quality water - either from natural springs or our new 400 GPM deep well water system. A 75 KW generator provides backup power to the entire farm during power failures. Recently, we have started to raise Brown Trout for delivery starting with the 2006 stocking season. ![]() In 2004, we completely renovated and expanded our Hatch House - adding egg incubation capacity and improved water filtration. At right, as young fingerlings dodge the broom, the Hatch House raceways get a daily cleaning Below, owner Mark Fisk cleans the rearing tanks and raceways. ![]() ![]() |
